Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar:
#Pakistan🇵🇰’s army chief, Asim Munir, who visited Tehran yesterday, brought with him Washington’s “final warning,” calling on Iran to accept the American demand for nuclear concessions before any further steps are taken, according to cited leaks. Otherwise, Iran would face a “large-scale attack” targeting, in particular, its nuclear facilities at Mount Pickaxe.
At the same time, the report claimed that “it remains unclear whether diplomatic efforts will be able to untangle this difficult impasse and prevent the outbreak of another war.” According to the report, heated discussions are underway in Tehran regarding Moscow’s entry into the picture and its efforts to reduce tensions, especially following Lavrov’s visit to Tehran.
The prevailing assessment in Iran is that Russia seeks to bring the parties’ positions closer together by proposing compromise initiatives, as the nuclear issue returns to the center of disputes in the negotiations, following Moscow’s recent contacts with the United States and the Gulf states.
However, Tehran appears unwilling to accept any proposal concerning the nuclear issue or the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz—even if it comes from Moscow—unless its core concerns are addressed through an end to the ongoing attacks and the lifting of economic pressure.
